Hybrid Non-Stick Pan 10-Inch
A premium hybrid non-stick pan marketed as safer than traditional Teflon. Independent testing detected PFAS markers in the coating. HexClad has not provided verified third-party testing to refute this.
This is a rating of this specific product only — not the company. Other products from this brand may score differently.
HexClad markets itself as a premium, safer alternative to traditional non-stick pans — but independent testing by Mamavation in 2023 detected fluorine (a marker for PFAS) in the cooking surface. HexClad's response was to dispute the methodology rather than provide independent third-party testing confirming the pan is PFAS-free. Until transparent, verified testing is published, this pan cannot be recommended. The premium price point makes this particularly concerning — consumers paying $150+ for a pan they believe is safer are not getting what they paid for.
Why We Rated It This Way
Mamavation's independent testing detected fluorine (a PFAS marker) in HexClad's cooking surface in 2023. HexClad disputed the findings but has not published independent third-party verification that the pan is PFAS-free.
